Top 20 Marketing Blogs, Bloggers & Websites For You To Learn About Marketing

6 years was all it took for TikTok to reach 1 billion users and dominate social media marketing. Google reportedly made over 3,000 changes to its algorithm and kept SEO professionals on their toes.

Let that sink in.

Marketing trends and best practices are changing faster and more frequent than I change my clothes

Whether you are a marketing student or a professional, it is essential that you keep up with the fast-changing marketing trends.

You’re in luck as I've put together a list of the top 20 marketing blogs to help you learn! Another good news? They’re all free. Ok fine, you might have to provide your email address to access some of them – but that’s a small price to pay for the valuable information you’ll get.

But before I share my list with you, let’s discuss what makes a good marketing blog.

What makes a good marketing blog?

I define a good marketing blog as one with quality content that is highly relevant, written by credible authors. Most importantly, free resources to help you follow-up action items.

markonmag is a great example of a site with quality article contributors (see what I did there?). We are a good marketing blog because our writers have credible experiences, and would be easily searchable on LinkedIn.

Secondly, there is a lot (and A LOT) of content out there, and it might be hard to find what is indeed important. Hence, reading a blog that fits you to a T, that’s the blog you are looking for!

Lastly, a blog that truly cares for you, provides you resources to continuously guide you, even as you finish the blog post. Did you know we have free resources too?

My personal list of the best marketing blogs out there!

Therefore, I have provided my golden list of curated blogs that is certified (by yours truly) as a good marketing blog. They are all relevant, with credible authors, and have free resources to further your learning. Read away!

1) markonmag

No surprise, markonmag is on the top of my list of marketing blogs. If you are fresh to the marketing world, markonmag provides a great overview of what is out there and guidance on how to get started.

When building markonmag, we decided to cater mainly to marketing students as there was a clear lack of resources to help them navigate marketing courses and internships. We also provided a list of enthusiastic marketers who would be more than happy to chat.

Do explore more of our site!

2) Writing Wildly

Writing Wildly is a platform where you can hire freelance content writers. Their writing blog has tons of great content on topics like writing tips and freelancing advice.

With Writing Wildly’s, you are certain to start with a strong foundation in content writing. Their content provided me with fundamental knowledge in content writing frameworks that I’ve been using for markonmag’s blog posts.

If you are interested in being an SEO writer while studying, Writing Wildly is for you.

3) Novocall

Novocall is a call automation system for small and medium businesses. Their blog is on the top of my list out of all the small business marketing blogs I’ve seen.

While Novocall’s blog has a strong focus on tech content, they share a lot about other aspects of business. These include sales and marketing. Some of their marketing-related content include their blog post on writing tips and beginner SEO mistakes.

I really really love this and will recommend it if you are starting your own business, or are entering the workforce soon!

4) Novochat

Novochat is a conversational marketing platform that provides e-commerce companies chat marketing solutions through WhatsApp, Messenger, and more. Their blog has a heavy focus on chat marketing.

While chat marketing sounds niche, it is a key component in many businesses that the majority of marketers overlook. I absolutely love the Novochat blog because it provides action steps and guidance on chat marketing integration with many existing tools like Whatsapp, Shopify, and eBay.

This is complementary to Novocall’s blog and useful for aspiring small business owners.

5) HubSpot Academy

How can I make a list without one of the best popular marketing blogs? Hubspot is a cloud-based Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platform that helps businesses to attract visitors, convert leads, and close sales.

HubSpot Academy has endless useful resources for digital marketers, especially their free classes on the different marketing aspects and certifications.

As a well-known CRM company, having a HubSpot certificate on your resume can bring a huge advantage to your resume. Need I say more?

6) HubSpot Social Media Blog

Just when we thought HubSpot couldn’t get any better, they said “Oops, I did it again.”

HubSpot Social Media Blog takes a golden spot as one of the top social media marketing blogs.

Hubspot offers countless effective methods to market your business, for example, a guide on 30+ hidden Instagram hacks (ain’t that interesting?)

This blog is key for any aspiring social media marketer who wants to stay on top of new marketing trends.

7) The Moz Blog

How can we talk about SEO without mentioning Moz? Moz is a platform that provides analysis, website monitoring, and optimization based on SEO (Search Engine Optimization) techniques.

The Moz Blog is the one of the best SEO marketing blog where all the essential online marketing tactics and strategies are listed. You know Moz is a good SEO marketing blog when both beginners and business veterans are referencing its resources.

The Moz Blog is a resource I heard in countless chats with marketers, and its reputation speaks for itself. Do take a look!

8) Product Marketing Alliance

Product Marketing Alliance is the biggest community for aspiring and current product marketers. This product marketing website covers the basics and more advanced topics like pricing models, go-to-market strategies, personas, and so on.

They even have a Slack community of over 4000 enthusiasts for anyone to join and certifications you can take!

When I was a student, I really loved how I could connect with actual product marketing managers from Forbes 500 companies and chat to learn more, at no cost at all!

9) MailChimp

When you see MailChimp, you immediately think of email marketing. That’s your go-to. Mailchimp is an email service provider, built for helping businesses with primarily email marketing services.

The MailChimp blog explains HTML email basics, and tips in developing email marketing plans. This email marketing blog made me realize I didn’t need to be a professional web designer to create and send beautiful yet meaningful HTML emails. Anyone could do it.

If you’re looking to become an email copywriter, this blog is definitely something you should check out. In the working world, email marketing is often overlooked. It is definitely handy to have this knowledge in your pocket!

10) Blogging Wizard

Blogging Wizard and its 48 Content Marketing Tools literally said, “Work smart, not hard” and I agree. This online marketing blog focuses on crazy epic content marketing tools that cover planning, promoting, and even improving your content. Ain’t that everything?

I would highly recommend bookmarking Blogging Wizard. (Even I wished I found out about this earlier…)

11) Ahrefs

Ahrefs is a software suite that contains tools for all things SEO-related. Its SEO marketing blog is filled with tutorials on SEO basics, tools, keywords research, link building, and soooo much more! Not just that, there are opinion pieces and case studies by industry experts that help illustrate the concepts much better.

Personally, I like Ahrefs for its categorization of articles. It helped me understand at a glance the breadth of SEO, and also the depth. Do read their blog to improve your SEO skills!

12) Optimist

Optimist is a premium content marketing agency that focuses on helping startups, SaaS, nonprofits, and creative agencies achieve immense growth through strategic content, promotion, and outreach.

Optimist articles and case studies are treasure troves of frameworks and strategies that have worked and drove massive growth for a range of companies. When I say massive growth, I mean +571% leads in 5 months and +1,308% in sign-up traffic?! Amazing.

Their articles and case studies are great for aspiring marketers who want to bring immense value to the table. Or just someone who wants to know how the h*ck did the Optimist team do it?!

13) Google Digital Garage

If I say digital marketing, and online ads, of course, Google comes to mind.

Google Digital Garage is an online school to get you started on your journey into the Google Ads Suite. It starts off light with fundamentals, and slowly brings you into the different ad products like search and display.

And displaying their certificates stating that you know Google ads? Your marketing internship is for sure in the bag. This can help you significantly if you’re looking to find a marketing internship with no experience.

14) Jon Loomer

Another platform you have to know for online ads is, without a doubt, Facebook (oops, Meta now).  Jon Loomer is the guy for all things Facebook marketing-related.

Jon’s blog is one of the most popular Facebook marketing blogs. Not just on targeting tips, copywriting, but Jon also covers tips to stay on top of the Facebook marketing game.

15) Twitter Flight School

Twitter is not a known platform when it comes to digital marketing. However, it has recently been in the spotlight when more users started using the microblogging site to express their hobbies.

The Twitter Flight School is a great marketing website that provides the basics of the Twitter Ads Suite. At the end of every course, there is a free certification that you can add to your LinkedIn profile. Why not?

16) Sprout Social

Sprout Social is a social media management tool.

Their Insights blog is always in-trend and has the most updated best practises in social media marketing. It covers from the type of content to post, to using chatbots for better customer service.

I don’t have a business, but that doesn’t stop me from reading and learning how others do it. Sprout Social is 100% your go-to for neat hacks.

17) Neil Patel

Neil Patel is a marketing expert and consultant who's worked with major companies like Amazon, NBC, and GM.

His marketing blog articles are more related to SEO, you can also find content around other digital marketing topics, including social media. He covers a wide range of digital marketing tools and ads suite best practices.

This digital marketing blog is great for aspiring business owners, on how to excel with a small marketing budget.

18) Later

Later is one of the leading Instagram scheduling platforms. Their blog is a pretty comprehensive social media marketing blog that covers TikTok trends as well.

As someone who is attracted to pictures and colors, the Later blog is visually pleasing with many screenshots to explain their articles better. I will recommend it for design-centric marketers.

19) Bad Pitch Blog

The Bad Pitch Blog is an old but gold marketing blog. This popular marketing blog points out mistakes other marketers have made so that you won't make them, too. It’s like learning from history!

For myself, this blog made me aware of media relations across digital channels, and how it plays along with marketing.

20) Social Media Examiner

Saved the best for the last. Social Media Examiner is among the top social media marketing blogs for businesses. The blog covers a wide variety of content from “how-to”, Facebook marketing, how to sell NFTs(?), and insights on many other social media platforms and tools.

My personal favourite section is the Facebook marketing section because they provide so much crucial information in a succinct format. I highly recommend this to aspiring digital marketers.

Which of these marketing blogs will you start with?

Good marketing blogs are hard to come by.

Yet, we have 20 good ones here. These should be enough to keep you engaged through the year and prepare you for what’s ahead.

My advice is to first decide what kind of marketer you want to be.

If you’re not too sure how to get started, do try with various side projects and chats with seniors and professors.

As elaborated earlier, this is a great way to get your dream marketing internship if you have no relevant experience.

That should give you an idea if you are into content marketing more, performance marketing, growth marketing, or just someone who is genuinely curious.

Hopefully, this article gave you greater confidence on how to stay updated on top of trends, and build your thriving career in marketing!
