Top 15 Quiet Cafes To Study In Singapore With Wi-Fi And Power Plugs

Singapore is a bustling country where cafés are usually filled with people. 

Sometimes you’ll find yourself in a café full of chatter from the students. Or perhaps they blast loud music on their speakers. Sometimes it's just too noisy. You can't study and you just want to get out of there! 

While I’m no longer a student searching for the most conducive café to study, as a freelance SEO writer, I still often find myself trying to look for a quiet spot with Wi-Fi and power sockets.

We've compiled a list of cafés we think will allow you to study in peace without any distractions so you can buckle down and get serious work done. The cafés listed below don't necessarily specialize in coffee or food.

They're simply ideal places for studying because they're quiet and provide both Wi-Fi and power plugs.

1. Mellower Coffee 😊

Located near Bugis MRT, Mellower’s central location is very accessible for students across the country.

The establishment boasts double-story seating so students don’t have to concern themselves with finding a spot. Though, the place can get pretty crowded on the afternoons on the weekends.

There are many power sockets around so you need not worry about your devices running out of power. All you got to do is just to find a seat and get into the zone as you take a sip of some of their unique specialty drinks such as their Ondeh Ondeh Latte and Cotton Candy Coffee.

2. Grids & Circles 🌐


Grids & Circles is housed in a shophouse in Chinatown. The three-story space makes has plenty of seats for any student looking for a spot to get some work done.

Its minimalist interior design also makes it a conducive space to study. Free Wi-Fi and multiple power plugs are available on the second floor.

3. Old Hen Coffee Roasters 🐔

Old Hen Coffee Roasters is another café that I've come across during my freshmen years at university that served really good food, especially their cafés! I love cafés with cafés, sandwiches, etc which is why it's one of my favorite cafés to go to during lunch breaks at work because it serves really nice cafés! 

Their menu changes periodically so you'll always be looking out for new cafés to try too! They also provide a free Wi-Fi connection in case you require one.

Old Hen Coffee Roasters is located along with Holland Village.

4. Kith café

Kith café is another café that has Wi-Fi connection too so you can study there laptop, smartphone or maybe play games on your PS Vita to while away the time! I enjoy cafés that provide Wi-Fi connection too because it feels like you're back in school mode where students would gather together and study in cafés! 

Their menu has a wide variety of cafés too but their cafés aren't as cheap as other cafés since they do use premium chocolate brands such as Lindt Chocolate.

Kith café is located along Tanglin Road so if you have to attend classes at the nearby institutions such as The Chinese High School, Nanyang Girls' High School, Hwa Chong Institution, River Valley High School, etc., this café would be perfect for you to get some studying done after class ends! 

5. Craftsmen Specialty Coffee 🎨

Established in 2014, Craftsmen Specialty Coffee has become a favorite spot for coffee junkies.

As a typical hipster café, its interior comprises of exposed brick walls, lined with wooden shelves and furnishings, packed closely in the dim, warmly lit area.

Good coffee aside, the abundance of natural light, free Wi-Fi, and its central Clarke Quay location make this place a great spot for students looking for a conducive environment to study.

6. The LoKal 🇸🇬

The LoKal is a café where really good coffee is served. Back in the day, (can’t believe I’m actually using this phrase 😭) cafés like these are very rare to come by during my hunts for cafés to study near the school. that provide cafés with thick pancakes and cream on top of it! 

They also have power plugs under each table so you can charge up your gadgets while studying or reading books during your free time at this café.

The LoKal is located along Craig Road. 

7. Common Man Coffee Roasters 👨🏽

Common Man Coffee Roasters is a café that serves cafés with thick pancakes and cream on top of it too! I also enjoy cafés where they serve cafés at affordable prices for cafés in cafés too which means cafés like these are rare to come by during my hunts for cafés near the school! 

They also have power plugs under each table so you can charge up your gadgets while studying or reading books during your free time in Singapore! 

It's also nice to blog after having a hearty meal during lunchtime when cafés such as these provide large portions of cafés and desserts making it difficult to resist going back to having another serving of cafés or desserts after dinner time!

Common Man Coffee Roasters is located along Tiong Bahru Road. 

8. Double Shot Coffee 🥃🥃

Double Shot is a café that anyone who prefers working or studying in a café will love! 

It has a relaxed and homely vibe with wooden furniture and dimmed lighting. There are plenty of power sockets around the café, perfect for charging all your devices! The Wi-Fi connection is also really strong, making it a great place to get some work done.

The café is pretty quiet so café workers can concentrate on their work without any distractions. And if you get hungry, the café offers a wide variety of food and drinks to choose from! From sandwiches to pasta dishes, Doubleshot definitely has something for everyone.

Double Shot is located at Shenton Way.

9. Forty Hands 👋👋👋👋

While Forty Hands seems like a café for care hoppers, it isn’t just a café for them. Students looking for a quiet café to study in can work here too! 

Those looking to get work done in a café can do so at their own pace! There are plenty of long tables here with ample space. In Forty Hand, you will get a real sense of peace and quietness - something that's hard to come by in Singapore! It also has some soft music playing in the background 😊

10. The Book Café 📘

A café full of books and cozy couches, The Book Café is place is THE perfect place for students to have a productive study session.

On top of that, the place comes with power sockets, free Wi-Fi, and even a photocopy machine. Need I say more?

This café provides you with the perfect atmosphere to study.

11. ONALU Bagel Haús 🥯

Located at the Singapore Management University (SMU) School of Accountancy, ONALU has become one of the most frequented spots on campus for anyone craving a good coffee and bagel.

The interior is air-conditioned and is decorated with ornaments that scream modern and hipster. From comfy lounge seats to typical high-top chairs, this place has the makings of a fantastic study spot. And the best part? It’s actually pretty quiet for most of the day as students and staff are busy with their work.

Their exterior is lined with many rows of benches shared by members of the student body and the public. They provide ample space for you to do all the studying you need.

As a former SMU student myself, this place is 100% bagel-worthy.

12. Productive 👨‍💼

It’s all in the name.

While not a café in and of itself, this working space comes with its own in-house menu where you can offer food and drinks.

They have a good number of comfortable seats for anyone who needs to get some work done.

13. For The People 🧑‍🤝‍🧑🧑🏽‍🤝‍🧑🏽

For The People is a café with a modern, IKEA-like interior.

Designed with a goal to create a space for people to connect and recharge over food and drinks, the café boasts a spacious 60-seater space.

From window seats to four-seater booths and couches, it has a variety of seating arrangements to cater to different preferences.

Of course, let’s not forget the Wi-Fi coverage this place provides along with power sockets. It really is a café for the people 😉

14. Commune

Commune Café is an extension of the furniture shop of the same name.

The café was intended to be a resting spot for their visitors to indulge after doing their shopping.

Constructed upon a linkway bridge, this place definitely stands out in terms of its architecture.

There are also unlimited Wi-Fi and several power sockets for you to study to your heart's content. 

15. Lowercase

Located in LASALLE, it’s not an uncommon sight to see many students working on their laptops there. The interior is cosy, with warm lights hanging from the exposed ceiling and shelves decked with books. Apart from coffee, the menu includes typical café fare like eggs benedict and pancakes.

Having graduated just over a year ago, memories of me struggling to find a conducive place to study are still rather vivid. Who can study at home really?? 😂
